Why bother with Logistics?

There are many reasons to know and understand logistics. Whether people want to believe it or not, logistics impacts every part of everyday living. You have to get your self to and from work right? If you are not there on time, you will most likely be talked to. You have to manage that part of your life. You have to buy groceries and bring them home. You have to arrange the finances of that and the transportation to an fro.

Then there is the logistics on the grander scale, the type that involves the mass movement of goods. One must consider the costs and time it must take to handle such transactions. The time is critical if there are needed release dates for products so they can beat their competition. All these factors play in.

One must also consider the legal side of the logistics. There are always purchase agreements, whether you want to believe it or not. There are terms to the sales and warranties that go along with that. There are three things that one must consider as they move forward in contracts. There must a price, a place, and a product. Once there is legal tender passed between the party, there has been a transaction that has happened. Negotiations are always important to remember as well, especially when there are high dollars on the table.

Knowing that logistics plays a critical part in all our lives and this knowledge helps me in decisions that I make.
